Virtual Purple Plunge 2021 Details

It’s that time of year when we typically start to think about that icy jump into Lake Zurich, singing songs with friends at the Scoreboard after party, and waiting excitedly to hear just how many families this year’s plunge has helped. Our charity is based on helping our community members fight cancer. Those fighters may be at risk of complications from COVID-19 and to help stop the spread of the virus, we will be doing the Plunge a bit differently this year. Register NOW for the Virtual Purple Plunge 2021 to start your own fundraising challenge and to check out how this year will be different but just as exciting as years past.

 

We as a community can still help those who need help the most. We will be organizing and facilitating a social media campaign to spread awareness and raise money for the Purple Plunge foundation. We will need each and every one of you to help us keep the Purple Plunge funded. Beginning February 1st, we are kicking off our 2021 Virtual Purple Plunge. We are asking that you complete one of the challenges below and make a donation. If these challenges are too crazy for you, a donation is still greatly appreciated.

 

Here are some of the wacky challenges suggested for this year’s plunge:

• Snow Angels on Lake Zurich in your swimsuit

• Run through a sprinkler in the snow

• Have a squirt gun fight outside

• Dump a bucket of ice on yourself

• An Ice bath

• Go sledding in your swimsuit

• Indoor snowball fight

• GET CREATIVE

 

We are asking that participants share their videos with the Plunge through social media and tag as many of your friends as you can. Challenge them to either complete one of the tasks above, or donate to the Purple Plunge. When you submit a video or photo, include a reason why you choose to Plunge. It would be great if each participant would tag at least 3 people to take the Purple Plunge too! There will also be team prizes for the top fundraising teams, and giveaways throughout the weeks during special fundraising challenges. Keep a look out for fundraising nights at many of your favorite local restaurants around the Lake Zurich and surrounding areas.

The Purple Plunge cannot survive without the help and support of our community. Although this year may be different, we must continue to help those in our community affected by Cancer.
