Do you ever wonder how we pull off such a successful event?  Well, it takes a community to run an event the size of Purple Plunge each year!  

​

Planning for the event begins in December and continues right up to the day of the event.

 

Each year we ask for volunteers and the community comes out in force.  Because the event has grown so much, we need more volunteers than ever.

Registration Lead (6)

  • Print out all required documentation for Registration

  • Ensure Waivers are signed

  • Collect Offline Donations from Plungers

  • Distribute Plunger Swag Bags

  • Sign-Up New Registrations 

  • Location: Outdoor Heated Tent: You will need some protection from the elements so bring gloves and a hat.

Registration Table Volunteers (4)

  • High School & Older

  • Assist Registration Leads in distribution of Plunger Bag/Shirt. 

  • No cell phone usage during volunteer hours

  • Location: Outdoor Heated Tent: You will need some protection from the elements so bring gloves and a hat.

Registration Accountant (2)

  • Must be 18 or Older

  • Converts Offline (New) Registration Forms during Registration

  • Applies offline donations to Registrants Account

  • Location: Outdoor Heated Tent: You will need some protection from the elements so bring gloves and a hat.

Merchandise Table Lead (2)

  • Order Merchandise

  • Ship Merchandise Pre-Plunge

  • Sell & Distribute Merchandise @ Plunge

  • Location: Outdoor Heated Tent: You will need some protection from the elements so bring gloves and a hat.

Merchandise Table Volunteer (4)

  • High School & Older 

  • Help sell & package merchandise. Collect money, make change, etc.

  • Location: Outdoor Heated Tent: You will need some protection from the elements so bring gloves and a hat.

Scholarship Table (2)

  • 6th Grade & Up 

  • Pass out Scholarship applications, answer questions and collect entries for 2020 Purple Plunge Scholarships 

  • Location: Outdoor Heated Tent: You will need some protection from the elements so bring gloves and a hat.

Raffles and Auction

Raffle Lead

  • Request Donations from local business

  • Document Donations received

  • Create Raffle Baskets, Silent Auction and Live Auction Sheets

  • Set-up Raffle Table Area

  • Location: Outdoor Heated Tent: You will need some protection from the elements so bring gloves and a hat.

Event Accountant

  • Collect Funds from Registration, Merchandising & Raffles throughout the event

  • Keep Funds separate and accounted for as day unfolds

  • Turn funds over to Raffle Lead at end of day

  • Location: Outdoor Heated Tent: You will need some protection from the elements so bring gloves and a hat.

Live & Silent Auction Cashier (2)

LIVE AUCTION: 

  • Work with emcee during Live Auction to identify winner of Auction Item

  • Obtain Name and Phone Number of Winner

  • Update Live Auction worksheet

  • Collect Payment for Live Auction Items at designated Cashier Desk

SILENT AUCTION:

  • Close out Silent Auction items at designated time

  • Update Silent Auction Sheet with Winner’s Name

  • Collect Payment for Live Auction Items at designated Cashier Desk

Raffle Ticket Sales (Inside) (2)

  • 21 & up

  • Sell Raffle Tickets

  • Keep Track of Raffle Numbers, Name and Phone # 

  • Location: Scoreboard

Raffle Ticket Sales (Tent) (2)

  • 21 & up

  • Sell Raffle Tickets

  • Keep Track of Raffle Numbers, Name and Phone # 

  • Location: Outdoor Heated Tent: You will need some protection from the elements so bring gloves and a hat.

Raffle Table Coordinator

  • Monitors Raffle Baskets for Theft

  • Answers Questions about Raffle Ticket Pricing, where to buy raffle tickets etc.

  • Pulls Raffle Tickets at designated times

  • Updates the Raffle Ticket Board with winning tickets

Tent & Plunge Operations

Volunteer Coordinator & Tent Operations

  • Create an outreach plan for recruiting volunteers for day of the event activities.  

  • Responsible for communicating with volunteers through Sign-Up Genius leading up to the event

  • Greet volunteers at volunteer check-in 

  • Sign Service Hour forms for students  

  • Location: Outdoor Heated Tent: You will need some protection from the elements so bring gloves and a hat.

Tent Decorator

  • Bring your creativity to create posters, help hang decorations, cut snowflakes and hang signs inside the tent. 

  • No Cell phones during volunteer hours, please

  • Location: Outdoor Heated Tent: You will need some protection from the elements so bring gloves and a hat.

Tent Volunteer

  • Assist with activities happening inside the tent such as, set-up, helping with raffle and auction items and other activities. 

  • No Cell phones during volunteer hours, please

  • Location: Outdoor Heated Tent: You will need some protection from the elements so bring gloves and a hat.

Men's Changing Tent Attendant (MALE): BEACH 

  • High School & Older

  • Duties include holding coats, shoes, phones for Plungers. 

  • You will help people into the warming tent so they can change & be responsible for picking up items left at the end. 

  • EARN 3 VOLUNTEER HOURS DUE TO TEMPERATURES OUTSIDE

  • Location: OUTSIDE. Dress for the elements (gloves, hat, scarf)

Women's Changing Tent Attendant (FEMALE): 

  • High School & Older

  • Duties include holding coats, shoes, phones for Plungers. 

  • You will help people into the warming tent so they can change & be responsible for picking up items left at the end. 

  • EARN 3 VOLUNTEER HOURS DUE TO TEMPERATURES OUTSIDE

  • Location: OUTSIDE. Dress for the elements (gloves, hat, scarf).

Coffee Table

  • Middle School & Older

  • Help distribute Coffee, Hot Chocolate to Plungers and Guests. 

  • Pick up trash, keep area clean.

  • No Cell phones during volunteer hours, please. 

  • EARN 3 VOLUNTEER HOURS DUE TO TEMPERATURES OUTSI

  • Location: OUTSIDE. Dress for the elements (gloves, hat, scarf)
